A practical foundation in the systems and skills every EA needs to excel.

What's Included?

The Essential EA Toolkit is the back-to-basics best friend every executive assistant needs, especially if you are new to the role and looking for tried-and-true fundamentals. This 4-session program equips participants with all the tools necessary to set themselves up for day-to-day success. It focuses on organization, managing the many requests received, building a successful partnership with executives, prioritizing, and more.

This program is ideal for new EAs and those who may have some experience but wish to establish more calm, organized, and productive work practices. By the end of the program, participants will feel confident in the systems they’ve put in place to ensure their success.

Course Schedule

Session 1: Set Up for Success

This session explores the EA/executive relationship and how to work together to build a successful partnership. Topics include daily communication, key questions to ask, how to have productive 1:1 meetings, giving upward feedback, stakeholder management, creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and more.

Objectives:

Understand the role of the executive assistant and the relationship between the EA and executive.
Learn how to communicate effectively with executive-level team members.
Understand how to facilitate and engage in a productive 1:1.
Learn what Standard Operating Procedures are and how to create them.

Session 2: Managing Your Workload

This session focuses on organizing the day to successfully manage your workload. Topics covered include prioritization, task triage, and tools to stay ahead.

Learn how to prioritize tasks.
Understand The Eisenhower Matrix.
Gain knowledge of various task management systems.

Session 2: Communication

This session covers various forms of communication and how to find an individual EA voice. It discusses writing effective emails, understanding levels of formality, and the distinction between notetaking and minute-taking.

Objectives:

Recognize different communication styles.
Tailor communication styles to various contexts and individuals.
Learn how to write effective emails.
Understand the distinction between note-taking and formal minute-taking.

Session 4: Having a Strategic Mindset

This session focuses on developing a strategic mindset and thinking like an executive to anticipate needs and achieve goals.

Will I get a recording and certificate?

Yes! Both the recording and certificate can be found under Order History > Order Details. For live sessions, please wait 1 to 3 business days after the live session for these materials to be uploaded (you’ll receive them via email as well).
